Bristol-based radio station Noods Radio has launched a crowdfund campaign to save itself from closure amidst threats of eviction.

The station currently faces an ultimatum, it claims, which is to move out of its home of Mickey Zoggs - a pub and live music venue in St Paul's - or buy the venue outright.

If it were to do the latter, it would set Noods back £70,000 for the deposit alone.

CNN obtained and published hotel surveillance video from March 2016 that appears to show Sean “Diddy” Combs physically assaulting his then-girlfriend, the pop and R&B singer Casandra Elizabeth “Cassie” Ventura.

The newly released footage seems to corroborate allegations that Cassie made in her since-settled lawsuit against Diddy.

In the complaint, Cassie alleged that Diddy “became extremely intoxicated and punched [her] in the face” at the hotel.

The singer said she “tried to leave her hotel room,” while Diddy was asleep, “but as she exited, Mr. Combs awoke and began screaming at [her].

Cassie filed her lawsuit against Diddy in November of last year.

More than a decade after mooting the project in his book Waging Heavy Peace, Neil Young has announced the release of Early Daze, an album of mostly unreleased recordings from the beginnings of Crazy Horse.

The record includes un-vaulted versions of six songs, each presented in its first incarnation: “Come On Baby Let’s Go Downtown,” “Winterlong,” “Wonderin’,” “Look at All the Things,” “Helpless,” and “Down by the River.” Below, listen to another of the album’s tracks, “Everybody’s Alone”; that recording was released with a different mix on Neil Young Archives, Vol.

The Chicago trio begins its tour in San Francisco on Thursday, June 13.

The group will continue with North American shows into July, culminating in a performance at Pitchfork Music Festival on Saturday, July 20.

The United States House of Representatives passed the Transparency in Charges for Key Events Ticketing (TICKET) Act yesterday (May 15), marking a key step in the bill’s journey to becoming a law.

The total ticket price must also be disclosed in any advertisement, marketing, or price list.

Representatives Jan Schakowsky, an Illinois Democrat, and Gus Bilirakis, a Florida Republican, introduced the TICKET Act in June 2023.

British media art and design collective Universal Everything (UE) create diverse projects that aim to do just that.

What’s interesting is how we project meaning and personality onto UE’s work.

From drone-style views of natural landscapes to sci-fi–like plants, UE create fascinating simulations of the national world.

“I’ve always been interested in trying to create work that hasn’t existed before.

There is a brilliance in their work: Universal Everything hide the tech and leave us to delight in creation, possibility and life.

‘Dance is the way I communicate’, says Ivan Michael Blackstock.

That said, stories of young Black men growing up in London in the 1990s and early 2000s are seldom heard.

‘I just gathered all that energy and put it into a piece of work’, Ivan says, which was first performed in 2015.

‘Reflecting on that film, it was really about summoning an energy, an intensity, that I remember’, Blackstock says.

‘When I was growing up, there were only certain images of Black men that were presented to me’, he reflects.

LA-based studio Actual Objects on how they suspended reality in their collaboration with electronic musician VTSS.

Created at 180 Studios XR space at 180 The Strand, this collaboration with LA-based Actual Objects is one in a series of four new videos by Martyna Maja aka VTSS.

CM: Actual Objects videos often combine footage with AI, CGI and VFX to create different environments.

Even down to the studio name: Actual Objects.

That part was done by Case Miller, who’s also part of the Actual Objects studio.

“I’m trying to get players to develop their own ways of communicating based on choreography and body movement,” says Triantafyllidis.

“I’ve watched it so many times and been trying to decode the implications of what’s being presented,” Triantafyllidis confesses.

“These companies are so ahead of the game that it feels like artists are always one step behind,” agrees Triantafyllidis.

It felt like the pandemic plus the Capitol attack was somehow a turning point for internet culture as well,” he says.

“There’s always this weird sensation looking at works of digital art that are replicating nature.

How pattern recognition and the origins of music inspired UVA’s career-spanning exhibition.

We return to Honolulu’s Aloha Got Soul this week for a special set from Aunteh K.Under the moniker Aunteh K, (a nod to @ktuhfm), Kelsea Armstrong became a popular host on Honolulu’s college radio airwaves, curating vintage funk, jazz, Latin soul and reggae while incorporating the sounds and history of underrepresented Hawaiʻi artists that fall into these genres—all with an emphasis on vinyl.

When @Sennheiser asked me to collab for #421 day I jumped at the chance to cosplay as a 1970s news reporter. I took my trusty vintage MD421-2 and combined it with a period-correct Uher Report Monitor 4000. I have seen reporters on TV, children’s books (Ali Mitgutsch Wimmelbücher for my German audience) and IRL rocking this combination, down to the leather bag. Recording outside I was surprised how sensitive the combination was - I had used the 421 in the studio, on drums especially for my „Nuclear Drum Loops“ sound pack. The Orgon Systems Enigiser was not much of hit when it came out, with only 50 to 150 units being known to exist. But over time it became a cult-classic, thanks to its excellent filter that fits perfectly into underground dance music. The Elka Drummer One is no Klaus Dinger or Jaki Liebzeit, but it deserves its place in the history of Krautrock drumming. It was used by a bunch of German bands at the time, most prominently the wonderful Harmonia, a supergroup consisting of members of Neu! and Cluster (some of which where involved in a short-lived iteration of Karftwerk, too). The last time Volker Bertelmann stopped by NPR to perform as Hauschka, back in 2010, he dumped handfuls of Ping-Pong balls and anything else he could think of over the strings of our in-house grand piano, a performance captured in one of NPR's pristine studios (in a building that no longer exists). Чтобы согреться — ловите теплого и настоящего дип хауса самых лучших лет. Правду ведь говорят, что музыка это универсальный язык. Вот и молодому вьетнамскому диджею, который свел нижеприведенные миксы, оказался не чужд американский и европейский хаус из девяностых. В качестве затравки первыми идут подборки с лейблов основателей Дафт Панков (Roule Тома Бангальтера и Crydamoure Ги-Мануэля), но самое интересное идет после них — огромное количество красивой и мягкой музыки из Чикаго, Нью-Йорка, Гамбурга и Франкфурта-на-Майне. Может быть, эти издательства не так известны в широких кругах, но их пластинки определенно заслуживают внимания. #inthemix

В мире джаза Клиффорд Браун был известен под прозвищем Брауни, но ещё за каких-то 4 года до его первых сессий для Blue Note друзья знали его как Брэйна – талантливого студента математического колледжа, который ещё тинейджером сознавал, что иметь престижную и стабильную профессию вдобавок к музыкальным увлечениям не повредит. Вошедший с бибопом в моду героиново-алкогольный флёр Клиффорда тоже никогда не прельщал, он с юных лет демонстрировал удивительный профессионализм и независимость суждений. Не было и дня, чтобы он не выкроил время для репетиций и упражнений – уже позже во время многочисленных турне ранним утром в автобусах и поездах его всегда можно было застать практикующимся на трубе.…

Очень рекомендую не пропускать пластинку нашего старого знакомого Сэма Гендела и бразильского гитариста Фабиано до Насименто. Называется "The Room", вышла на лейбле Real World.На протяжении 35 минут звучат всего два инструмента – акустика и саксофон (который местами вообще больше похож на флейту). Красота неописуемая. Ничего лишнего – каждая нота на своём месте, каждая гармония сыграна с теплом, нежностью и чувством.Ехал под этот альбом в февральскую метель на поезде и просто растворился в этой записи. Одно из самых сильных впечатлений начала года.
